How it all started...
The year was 1987 and Dr. Lonnie S. Stinson, the Pastor and Founder of Emmaus Road Baptist Church in Garysburg, North Carolina was ready to depart to the land that God had shown to him – Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Stinson’s first place of worship was on the third floor of the La Quinta Hotel on Midlothian Turnpike. In less than a month, this small congregation moved to a larger conference room at the Midlothian Turnpike Comfort Inn. 35 years later, God has used Southside Baptist Ministries, Inc to impact thousands of lives through various services, programs and conferences. God is still doing GREAT things at Southside!

Under the leadership of Senior Pastor and Founder, Dr. Lonnie S. Stinson, Southside has endeavored to live out God's command to spread the gospel. From the preaching and teaching of God's Word to the many outreach and training programs, the vision laid upon our founder's heart over 35 years ago continues to thrive.
